Standard operating procedures against Ebola in Kasese district intensified.

The kasese deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in charge of Bukonzo county Lt. Maate Magwara has indicated that the district taskforce on disaster has intensified preparedness to curb the spread of the deadly Ebola disease in case of an outbreak.

Speaking to the press shortly after the district taskforce on disaster meeting held at kasese municipal bord room in kasese town, Lt. Magwara encouraged the public to observe the standard operating procedures which are key to prevent the disease to spread to other places in case of an outbreak.

He cautioned against hand shakes and other common characters that may spread the disease noting however that kasese district has not registered any case which requires strict adherence to the SOPs provided by healthy experts.

Lt. Magwara cautioned politicians in Kasese district against mixing Ebola disease with politics rather called for collective efforts to prevent the disease in Kasese.

Arafat Bwambale the kasese district surveillance focal person indicated that the taskforce monitoring all entry points at the border that may be used by suspected people from the neighboring Eastern Congo where the disease has been confirmed.

He noted that a private shelter has been set aside at Bwera general hospital where suspects will be evacuated.

Before, Lt. Magwara had called on religious leaders and leaders of other gatherings like markets, bars to remain cooperative and adhere to the standard operating procedures which are preservative measures to the spread of the Ebola disease.More will keep on loading in our subsequent news.
