KASESE – In a defiant and triumphant display of stardom, Heli Baibe has cemented her legacy as the “Queen of Rwenzori” after staging a historic concert at Rwenzori Square that shattered attendance records and silenced skeptics.
As the first female artist in the Rwenzori region to pull off a solo concert of this magnitude, Heli Baibe did more than just perform; she addressed months of speculation and rumors from “nay-sayers” who had predicted the event would be a failure.
The highlight of the night came at approximately 1:00 AM. Before stepping onto the stage, Heli Baibe played a provocative short documentary produced specifically to challenge her critics. In the film, she directly addressed those who claimed her concert would “flop,” using the massive, capacity-filled Rwenzori Square as visual evidence of her success.
The event kicked off at 9:00 PM with high-energy curtain-raisers from local talents, including Trouble Maker. The atmosphere was further elevated by top-tier MCs from Mbarara and a lineup of regional heavyweights such as Ray G, Truth 256, and Omega 256, who all showed up to support the history-making artist.
Heli Baibe’s own performance lasted until 4:00 AM, featuring an “electrified” setlist and several collaborations with artists like Knice Kee, Tiptonny, Kanyere, and T Paul. Her stamina and stage presence remained unwavering throughout the three-hour marathon.
Despite the celebratory nature of the night, Heli Baibe used her platform to advocate for unity within the Kasese music scene. During her set, she made a special plea to her fans to support fellow local artist Good Hope Alex. She urged the massive crowd to show the same love at his upcoming concert, scheduled for May 23, 2026, also at Rwenzori Square.
The success of the “Heli Baibe Live” concert marks a turning point for the music industry in Western Uganda. By filling the region’s largest outdoor venue to capacity, she has proven that female artists possess the drawing power to lead the industry.
As the sun began to rise over Kasese, the message was clear: the records have been broken, the critics have been silenced, and a new era for Rwenzori music has officially begun.
