KASESE- In a landmark night for the Rwenzori region’s music scene, Heli Baibe made history as the first female artist to stage a concert that filled Rwenzori Square to capacity. The record-setting show, which drew fans from across the region, was hailed by many as a turning point for live music in Kasese district.

Organizers opened the performances at around 9:00 p.m., with a lineup of local talent warming up the crowd. Performances from popular local acts, including Chance Kahindo, Jayson sir, Edrine K, Trouble Maker among others, helped build momentum through the night. The concert also featured appearances and support from well-known MCs such as MC Kacheche and artists from outside the region, including Ray G, Truth 256, Omega 256, Pila boy and David Leusi.

Heli Baibe’s headline set began at approximately 1:00 a.m., following a screening of a documentary she commissioned that called out critics and doubters. The documentary appeared to set the tone for the evening, and Heli’s electrifying live entrance met it head-on. Over a marathon three-hour performance that ran until about 4:00 a.m., she delivered a high-energy show that combined solo hits with collaborative numbers.

The set included appearances from fellow artists Knice Kee, Tiptonny, Kanyere and T Paul, among others, who joined Heli for several standout duets and ensemble performances. Fans praised the production—lighting, sound and choreography all drew positive reactions—and the singer’s stamina and stage presence were repeatedly singled out by concertgoers.

Local officials and event organizers described the show as a major success for Kasese’s cultural calendar. For many attendees, the packed square and the night’s high-profile collaborations signaled growing recognition of the region’s music industry and the rising prominence of female artists within it.
As the last notes faded and the crowd dispersed in the early hours, one clear takeaway remained: Heli Baibe’s Rwenzori Square concert will be remembered as a milestone — not only for breaking attendance records, but for expanding the possibilities for women in Rwenzori’s music scene.
